Washington, D.C. GMMB announced today that Partner Melissa Morales has been named General Manager (GM) of the firm. Melissa will play a key role in helping oversee the firm’s strategy and operations with a focus on client experience, innovation, and growth. The leadership transition follows the retirement of Raelynn Olson, who helped lead the firm for 23 years.

“As General Manager, I’m ready to build on Raelynn’s successful record of growing GMMB and evolving how we show up for our clients and communities,” said Morales. “GMMB’s mission to drive meaningful change through strategic communications has never been more important. This team knows how to meet big moments with smart strategy and deliver outcomes that make a difference.”

As a Partner at GMMB, Morales brings nearly two decades of experience on the front lines of the fight for affordable health care. Her strategic insights and collaborative approach have delivered exceptional results for states, foundations, and nonprofit organizations. Morales’ unwavering dedication to promoting and protecting access to affordable care, expanding health coverage, and advancing health equity has been integral to GMMB’s success in helping deliver better health outcomes in the United States and around the world.

Raelynn Olson leaves behind a legacy of continuous growth, integrity, and a deep commitment to using communications as a force for good.

“Every day that Raelynn entered the office, she made us better. She empowered staff, helped solve complex client problems, and inspired great work,” said GMMB Founding Partner Jim Margolis. “During her tenure, the firm expanded its service offerings, achieved dramatic growth, and solidified its reputation as a trusted partner to campaigns, organizations, foundations, government agencies, and corporations. Fortunately, Raelynn is leaving her role in great hands—Melissa is one of the best,” Margolis continued.
