GMMB has achieved 360-degree expertise in health care by working with clients from virtually every sector: physicians and other providers, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, insurers, medical educators, disease groups, federal and state government, consumer advocates and foundations. For nearly 30 years, we’ve been helping shape policy and improve quality and access to health care for all Americans.
GMMB provides communications strategy and support to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s State Health Reform Assistance Network – a group of 10 states that are implementing key provisions of the Affordable Care Act. GMMB provides communications planning, branding, stakeholder mapping, message development and digital and earned media strategy. GMMB is also working with Washington, Vermont and Rhode Island on implementation of their state Exchanges.
Physicians and other providers
Since 1993, GMMB has been advising the American Academy of Family Physicians. We have helped them advocate for improvements in primary care payment and funding education as well as the Patient Centered Medical Home. GMMB also serves the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association.
For the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network GMMB created, Action: Now Not Later, a campaign which positioned the organization as the voice for cancer patients in the health care reform debate. Bringing attention to the fight against cancer, GMMB recently produced a campaign on the importance of clean air.
Since 1989, GMMB has supported Abbott Nutrition’s work on several fronts. We reached thousands of business with Business Backs Breastfeeding, a turnkey support program for employers. The Oral Rehydration Project helped fight the preventable problem of diarrheal dehydration. The Nutrition Screening Initiative created tools for frontline caregivers in nursing homes to prevent malnutrition.
GMMB created and manages the Consumer Health Care ProductsAssociation’sKnow Your Dose Campaign which promotes the safe use of medicines containing acetaminophen. GMMB supports Consumer Unions’ advocacy campaigns to protect patients. GMMB helped develop the National Consumers League’s Script Your Future Campaign, to improve medication adherence particularly among those with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma.
