Nicole Harburger
Vice President

Nicole Harburger, a vice president at GMMB, brings extensive experience in strategic communications, campaigns and elections, and speechwriting to the firm.

In 2006, Nicole led the firm’s work on behalf of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Writing nearly 40 TV commercials, Nicole helped Democrats win back the House and achieve victories in battleground districts. In addition, she provided counsel to Defenders of Wildlife's successful campaign against Representative Richard Pombo (R-Calif.). Currently, Nicole advises health care organizations on issues ranging from health insurance for children to preventing childhood obesity.

Prior to joining GMMB, Nicole served as the director of communications for the Democratic Governors Association. Her hands-on knowledge of how Democratic governors have developed winning strategies in "red states" as well as "blue states" is a great asset for GMMB’s political and nonprofit clients.

Before joining DGA, Nicole was the communications director for former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno’s campaign for governor of Florida. She designed an inventive earned media strategy that featured an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and the "Janet Reno Dance Party" fundraiser.

Nicole served as press secretary to U.S. Representatives Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.), Marty Meehan (D-Mass.), and several candidates for Congress.

Nicole’s comments have appeared on CNN and NPR, and in the New York Times, Washington Post and Associated Press.

Originally from Wayland, Mass., Nicole is a graduate of Georgetown University.
