GMMB Gets 23 Pollie Awards!

Posted on Mar 14, 2011

There's nothing quite like being honored by your peers. So we were thrilled to learn we were taking home 23 Pollie Awards from the American Association of Political Consultants' 20th Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony on Friday night.

Every year, the AAPC gives out Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention Pollie Awards to political consultants and public affairs executives for outstanding work, creativity and contributions to electoral politics over the previous year.

Our big wins were for ads created for Barbara Boxer for Senate, Harry Reid for Senate and the Clean Energy Works campaign. We took home three Gold and four Silver awards for ads produced for the Boxer campaign in partnership with Armour Media, including the award for Best Overall TV/Radio Campaign for a candidate.

Another eight awards went to our work for the Harry Reid for Senate campaign, including two Gold, one recognizing "Not My Job" as "Best in Show" overall. The Pollie Awards are the latest in a series of accolades for our work on the Reid campaign, including the "Best Comeback Campaign" Reed Award and being named the "Best Campaign of 2010" by the Washington Post. A special thanks and congratulations to our partner on the Boxer and Reid campaigns The Mellman Group, winner of the AAPC's "Pollster of the Year" award. We also want to congratulate our Reid campaign colleagues Brandon Hall and Rebecca Lambe for winning AAPC's "Best Campaign Manager of the Year" and Jake Perry, who was named "Fundraiser of the Year."

Ads for the Clean Energy Works Campaign took seven Gold, Silver and Honorable Mention Pollie Awards, including Gold for "Best Use of Humor" and for the top television ad for a national organization. And last but not least, we took a Bronze for "Mr. Bibbs," one of our personal favorites from our work for the DCCC Independent Expenditure this past cycle.

Our sweep at the Pollie Awards comes on the heels of winning eight Reed Awards last month and a cycle in which GMMB candidates went a perfect six for six in their reelection campaigns despite the tough environment for Democrats nationally.

Thanks and congratulations to all of our winning clients for their hard work and much-deserved victories. And a special thanks to the AAPC for the recognition!
