| Megan Sather
Megan Sather, a vice president at GMMB, has more than 16 years of experience in public affairs, communications and political strategy. Megan provides strategic communications and advocacy counsel to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Development Program. She leads GMMB’s team that works with the foundation's Global Libraries initiative, which seeks to bridge the digital divide and provide economic opportunities by helping public libraries offer free computer and Internet access. Megan also provides counsel to the Financial Services for the Poor initiative, which aims to make financial services more available so families in developing countries can survive economic setbacks, build savings, and improve their children's health and education.
Prior to joining GMMB, Megan directed several congressional and public policy campaigns, including Washington state’s clean indoor air ballot initiative (Yes on I-901). She managed public affairs advocacy for Planned Parenthood Federation of America and served as a press secretary and legislative staff for several Pacific Northwest members of the United States Congress. As a consultant, she developed advocacy campaigns and communications plans for many nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. Megan worked for the organizing committee of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games as director of the Samsung Athlete Family Homestay Program.
A graduate of the University of Utah, Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in Russian language and literature.
