Susan Papp

Susan Papp, vice president, joined the firm in 1999. She has a broad range of experience in advertising, communications strategy, media relations, interactive work, special events coordination and grassroots organizing.

During her eight-year tenure at GMMB, she has worked for a variety of clients, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Corporation for National and Community Service, the Dave Thomas Foundation, DaimlerChrysler, the Helen and Charles Schwab Foundation, the Initiative for Global Development (IGD), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, National Public Radio, the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Novo Nordisk, the ONE Campaign, Parents magazine, and World Vision.

Currently, Susan is the project manager for the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services' Comprehensive Tobacco Control Program. She oversees the branding and advertising campaigns for a variety of statewide, public health campaigns on a range of issues, including smoking cessation, tobacco prevention for teens, blood donation, pandemic flu preparedness, postpartum depression, infant immunization and the WIC program. In this capacity, she leads a team of public relations and advertising professionals in developing core messages, branding elements and collateral materials, as well as television, radio, Internet and outdoor advertisements.

Susan has played a key role in several international projects. In early 2006, she managed the production of IGD's National Summit of Global Poverty. The summit, hosted by former Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell, brought together President Bush and more than 200 of America's top business executives, civic leaders and policy experts to advance an action plan to reduce extreme global poverty. The event was covered by Reuters, AP, UPI, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Fox News Channel, BBC and others.

Susan also helped the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Health Organization launch Health Metrics Network, an innovative global partnership of organizations, countries and NGOs working together to improve health information systems and health outcomes in developing countries.

Prior to joining GMMB, Susan was at the World Resources Institute, where she worked on a climate change project to educate the public on the effects of greenhouse gas emissions.

Susan is originally from Columbus, Ohio. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political communications from George Washington University.
