Allison Davis

Allison Davis is a vice president at GMMB. Allison joined the team in August 2005, bringing an extensive background in strategic communications and issue-based advocacy.

Currently, Allison consults for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's U.S. Libraries initiative. She advises the foundation team on programmatic, advocacy and communications strategies; develops and produces materials for media outreach, events and foundation collateral; and provides public relations support for the initiative and its grantees. Allison is also part of the media response team that manages and provides counsel on all media inquiries received by the Gates Foundation.

Before joining GMMB, Allison worked with Soapbox Communications and Resource Media, where she provided strategic consulting, writing, event planning and media relations services to a wide range of local and national advocacy organizations. Her work helped secure critical legislation, including Washington state's historic 2005 mental health parity bill and two 2004 Seattle school levies, which passed by the greatest margin in the city's history.
Allison is a skilled media trainer and has a strong track record of high-impact media placements, including placing stories and op-eds in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, CNN and countless local media outlets.

Allison received a B.A. in anthropology and documentary studies from Wellesley College. She completed her field work in Nepal, culminating in a thesis on women's social and economic roles in the country's developing tourism industry.
