| Sean Walsh
Sean Walsh is a senior vice president at GMMB. He joined the firm in 2005, bringing more than 13 years of experience in communications strategy, media relations, public affairs and politics. At GMMB, he helps manage an account team that provides strategic communications, media relations and advocacy counsel on education to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and its efforts to increase U.S. high school graduation and college-preparedness rates.
Sean has worked on three successful gubernatorial election campaigns and has managed communications and media relations for two governors, including Governor Jim Hunt of North Carolina and Governor James E. McGreevey of New Jersey.
Most recently, Sean served as senior vice president of the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation, where he led the development and implementation of a communications and community outreach effort for the state’s multibillion-dollar school construction program. He also advised the CEO on operations, strategic planning, intergovernmental relations and crisis management.
At the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, Sean represented the New Jersey governor’s office on public and government affairs issues at the bi-state transportation agency, which oversees the region’s airports, ports, bus and ferry terminals, bridges, tunnels, PATH train network, and the World Trade Center complex.
