| Chris Stenrud
Chris Stenrud is a senior vice president at GMMB, where he focuses on policy communications and public relations.
Prior to joining GMMB, Chris ran the Democratic Communications Committee in the U.S. Senate for Minority Leader Tom Daschle. He coordinated message and outreach efforts for Senate Democrats on issues ranging from drug re-importation to implementation of the 9/11 commission report.
Before returning to government service, Chris led the Washington public affairs practice of Golin Harris as a senior vice president. He designed and managed communications strategies for companies like United Health Group, private philanthropies such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and nonprofit organizations including the Special Olympics.
Chris began his public relations agency tenure at GYMR, where he was an account supervisor advising government and private sector clients on a variety of projects related to media strategy, alliance building and rapid response.
Previously appointed special assistant for public affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Chris worked with the White House to publicly release health policy announcements. Chris coordinated and produced television and radio interviews for Secretary Donna Shalala and Surgeon General David Satcher. He worked closely with supporting federal health agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, and the Food and Drug Administration.
Chris earned his undergraduate degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. |
