John Gundlach

John Gundlach, senior vice president and group creative director, joined GMMB in 2001, bringing over 14 years of experience in both consumer product advertising and issue campaigns.

John oversees all creative development for GMMB, including management of the Creative, Interactive and Design teams. He has personally overseen creative campaigns covering television, print, radio, interactive, identity development, events, collateral and branding for a broad range of GMMB's clients.

John began as an art director at McCann-Erickson in Detroit, working on GMC Truck national and retail advertising. He later moved to Young & Rubicam, where he spent six years developing strategic print, broadcast and outdoor advertising for Lincoln Mercury, Brita, the Detroit Tigers and the Salvation Army. While at Y&R, John took part in launching Visteon, a new brand for a division of the Ford Motor Company. His work in Detroit earned him a role in establishing a new creative department in Y&R's San Francisco office. While on the West Coast, he moved to Digitas, working for Charles Schwab on the launch of its investment software campaign, which included online and in-store marketing. In addition, he developed new brand identities for several Internet start-up companies.

John graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, followed by the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
