| Jacquie Lawing Ebert
Jacquie Lawing Ebert is a partner at GMMB. She joined the firm in 2002, bringing 15 years of results-driven communications strategy, public policy, social advocacy, management and political experience.
Jacquie manages the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation account, providing strategic, advocacy and media counsel to the foundation for its efforts to address some of the world’s most severe inequities. She oversees GMMB's work on behalf of the foundation to increase U.S. high school graduation and college-preparedness rates, ensure at-risk families in the Pacific Northwest achieve self-sufficiency, and promote and sustain public access to technology in libraries. She also provides counsel to other accounts
Prior to joining GMMB, Jacquie served as chief of staff at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She was principal advisor for HUD's 60 programs and worked to increase the budget to a 10-year high of $32 billion. As HUD deputy assistant secretary, she managed and developed the department’s homeless assistance and HIV/AIDS housing portfolio, recognized as an Innovation in Government by the Ford Foundation and Harvard.
Jacquie was issues director for Al Gore during the 1992 Clinton/Gore presidential campaign and served for six years in Mr. Gore’s U.S. Senate office.
A native of Memphis, Jacquie graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee. She lives in New York City with her husband and serves as vice chairperson on the Rebuilding Together national board. |
