Steve Caplan

Steve Caplan heads up GMMB's office in Los Angeles. He brings more than 20 years of experience and a wealth of expertise in the worlds of public affairs, entertainment and communications. Steve provides counsel to a number of clients, including the California Endowment, the Motion Picture Association of America and the City of Santa Monica.

Prior to joining GMMB in 2007, Steve served as executive vice president of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP), where he represented the nation's leading commercial production companies. His time working on behalf of the industry provides him with an unmatched knowledge of the world of advertising production.

Steve also spent several years at a Los Angeles-based PR firm, where he represented numerous clients in the entertainment industry.

Steve has extensive experience in politics at the national, state and local levels, working on behalf of a range of clients, including the mayoral campaign of Edward G. Rendell, now governor of Pennsylvania. He served as assistant deputy mayor, intergovernmental relations following Rendell's successful 1991 campaign. He has managed statewide campaigns and been involved in all aspects of campaign activities, including the production of radio and television advertising, fundraising, issues development, communications, and direct voter contact.

Steve attended the University of California, Santa Barbara as an undergraduate and earned his master's degree from the Fels School of Government at the University of Pennsylvania.
